Asia pioneer domains names

Before the SUNRISE periods, DotASIA will propose a special campaign called «ASIA Pioneer Domains» which will be organised into 3 categories:

1. Community Pioneers are invited to propose commonly used words and phrases (aka generic words) as .Asia names, such as “music.asia”, “trade.asia”, etc. Non-commercial initiatives may also apply as the Community Pioneers for names corresponding to their organisation. Besides the proposal, Community Pioneers will be required to deposit a commitment of US$10,000 to the marketing of the .Asia domain.
2. Global Brand Pioneers: Through the Global Brand Pioneers category, DotAsia seeks to work closely with well established brand owners to develop active and relevant .Asia websites and services. While the .Asia Sunrise processes provide comprehensive protective measures for trademark owners, the Pioneer Domains Program offers to proactive brand holders who are committed to the Asia community the .Asia domains that best match their mark and businesses.
3. Partner Pioneers of DotAsia are encouraged to adopt and lend testimonials to the .Asia domains as Partner Pioneers. Accredited registrars, technology and service providers may utilize .Asia domain names for promoting the .Asia registry. DotAsia is also actively looking for partners in many other areas, to offer them the best .Asia domains that exemplify their affiliation to the Asia community.

The «ASIA Pioneer Domains» program is basically reserved for generic words and well established Brand. The application forms will be accepted until August 31 2007.

The objective of the program is to immediately create active and relevant content on .Asia domains for the benefit of Internet users around the world. The program builds on the value of .Asia to provide a natural name for users to easily navigate and find the information they are looking for. Through the Pioneer Domains Program, DotAsia is giving out millions of dollars worth of domain names. This program do not replace the SUNRISE period.

An «ASIA Pioneer Domains» list will be published on the register’s website.

The « Challenge Period »:

While this period, it will be possible for any trademark holder to contest any « Asia Pioneer Domain » request, to protect his rights. The winner won’t have anything to pay.

Reservation for an « Asia Pioneer Domains »:

The applicant will have to follow the following steps:

1. The applicant must submit the application form to the registry. This form will have to include all the communication’s details and the applicant’s implication in the Asia community as well as the financial means he plans to deploy.

1. The applicant must give the registry a Garantee deposit. He will have to pay 500USD for the processing of the application form. This sum won’t be refund by the registry. Once this guarantee deposit is transmitted, the DotASIA will publish the “ASIA Pioneer Domains” concerned and the challenge period will take place.

1. At the end of the Challenge period the « ASIA Pioneer Domains » applicants will be known.

1. After the application form’s evaluation, the registry will nominates a candidate.

1. The applicant and the registry will sign a contract that stipulates they both have to respect the details of the program « ASIA Pioneer Domains »

1. The « ASIA Pioneer Domains » holder will have to choose an accredited registrar to register his domain name

During the SUNRISE, it will be possible to make a request for all the « Asia Pionner domains » which will still be free after this special campaign.
